An intensive experiential course to develop skills you can use professionally with clients in a variety of settings; including counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, coaching, education, support work, youth work or other similar setting. Students must be able to practice outside of the course, and will need to organise appropriate supervision.

Course assessment is via portfolio using a peer assessment process. An APCCA certificated course representing 52 taught hours plus, 25 hours of home study, 3 peer practice sessions and placement hours.

Students will need to provide:

  • A book to use as an art journal

  • Ideally a set of paints | pastels | pencils | paper

  • An opportunity to practice away from the course (work setting)

  • Appropriate supervision

Course content

The course consists of three main areas:

  • Theory

  • Experience

  • Practice

The course is delivered over 26 sessions at weekends or evenings and is assessed via portfolio. The course is delivered currently online only. Art training is not a requirement.

Course assessment is via portfolio using a peer assessment process. An APCCA certificated course representing 8o hours of study.
